jazz night
every thursday, from 6:00-8:00 pm firehouse presents: jazz night.
doors open at 5:30. this is an all ages event that is first come, first serve with open seating featuring: $5 beers, $10 wines, $12 classic cocktails, and our full dinner menu. sam and his trio will begin their set at 6:00 pm and will conclude at 8:00 pm. a $10 cover charge will be applied to your check.
the show will take place on our second floor with plenty of room for seating or standing and mingling.
there is no reservation needed. feel free to drop in anytime between 5:30 and 8:00 to experience our weekly jazz fix.

Sam Epstein is a Portland, Oregon-born saxophonist with roots stretching across the Pacific Northwest. After attending high school in the Seattle metro area, he studied the saxophone at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA with Leo Potts, returning to Portland in 2016.
Grounded in the tradition, with a commanding sound on alto and tenor saxophones, Sam continues to pursue varied interests in the Portland music scene. Recent efforts include one studio EP and one live EP (“Trio I”, "Live at Fortune") and a debut performance of a brand-new original project called Neighborhood Politics at the 2025 Montavilla Jazz Festival.
